Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation steps.

Release the fuel system pressure.
Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release (310-00A Fuel System - General Information - 2.3L EcoBoost (201kW/273PS), General Procedures).

Drain the fuel tank.
Refer to: Fuel Tank Draining (310-00A Fuel System - General Information - 2.3L EcoBoost (201kW/273PS), General Procedures).

Remove the drive shaft.
Refer to: Rear Driveshaft (205-01 Driveshaft, Removal and Installation).

Remove the bolt and detach the retainer clips. Position the wiring harness aside.
Torque:
106 lb.in (12 Nm)

Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Remove the quick release couplings and fresh air tube from the canister.
Refer to: Quick Release Coupling (310-00A Fuel System - General Information - 2.3L EcoBoost (201kW/273PS), General Procedures).

Use transmission jack.
Use the General Equipment: Transmission Jack

Remove the bolts and lower the fuel tank approx 8 inches.
Torque:
35 lb.ft (47 Nm)

Detach the retainer clip and Lower the fuel tank
another 8 inches approx, to allow access to quick release coupling above
rear subframe.

Remove the quick release couplings.

Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
