Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material (including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces) that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan can cause engine failure.

  1. Remove the LH engine mount.
    Refer to: Engine Mount LH (303-01A Engine - 2.3L EcoBoost (201kW/273PS), Removal and Installation).
  1. Remove the generator.
    Refer to: Generator - 2.3L EcoBoost (201kW/273PS) (414-02 Generator and Regulator, Removal and Installation).
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the bolt and the oil pressure control solenoid.
    Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Lubricate the oil pressure control solenoid with clean engine oil.
